SKF donates food, clothing and toys to local St. Louis charity

An SKF tradtion continues this year that helps local children in need.

Every December, a team of SKF employees meets early on a Sunday at a local Wal-Mart to begin a shopping spree that is very important to local children. How do they pay for everything? Through the generosity of the employees at SKF’s lubrication headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri.

For more than 15 years, employees have donated food and/or money to the St. Louis Crisis Nursery (SLCN). Several internal programs exist to help facilitate these donations which include “Blue Jeans Friday”, where participants are asked to give either five dollars or three items of non-perishable food and a 50/50 drawing.

“We collected nearly $5,400 this year from these two programs,” says Karen Talbott, engineering graphics specialist. “Our employees are always eager to participate which is incredible. The SLCN volunteers who come to our building to pick up the goods are always overwhelmed and amazed."
