Mityvac MVA670 Power Steering Air Bleed Adapters

Gothenburg, July 2015:  SKF today announced the introduction of its Mityvac MVA670 power  steering adapter kit. The adapters in this kit are designed to eliminate the opportunity for air to be re-incorporated into power steering fluid in a wide range of vehicles.

The kit includes:  MVA661 adapter for the General Motors two-tab cap design; MVA662 for Ford power steering pump necks having an internal diameter of 1-1/4 or 2 inches; and MVA660 universal cone adapter for necks ranging from 5/8-inch to 1-5/8-inch internal diameter.

When installed in place of the power steering reservoir cap, these adapters form an airtight seal in the neck of the vehicle’s power steering pump. A Mityvac hand vacuum pump (MV8000 or MV8500) is then coupled to the adapter to exert a vacuum on the fluid’s surface in the reservoir. As trapped air works its way out of the system, the vacuum prevents air from re-entering the fluid and forming foam at the surface.

The Mityvac brand is offered by Lincoln. Established in 1910, the Lincoln brand is a world leader in the manufacture and sale of lubrication and pumping equipment for industry. As part of the SKF Group based in Gothenburg, Sweden, the SKF Lubrication Business Unit headquarters is located at One Lincoln Way, St. Louis, Mo.
